We are laughing at the booze , amount we drink. Had a great breakfast provided by B and B walked next door and signed up for a tour on Sunday. Did not do the sunset to mt Entna as it gets back at 11 at night and we, I, would be wasted the next day and sleep most of it. We found out there is an open bus that drives along the area and we can ride to the beach or near by small towns so we will do that one day.
So, at noon we stop at this little cafe and have wine and Campari, for me. Walk around and around . Lunch again wonderful pasta dinners and Bruce is close to licking the plate. Beer and wine. Back to the room as businesses close from 1-4 here. Come back take off shoes and nap. Walk towards a new location and find the post office as we are mailing clothes home. Stopped for a Lemoncello .
Walked to find the laundromat, success, back to room for an hr off to dinner with wine and Lemoncello. If we had those many drinks at home we would be inbred after the ones at noon.
We think it is not only the walking but the difference in temps.
We met a couple from Britian today and struck up a conversation and we all said we were pinching ourselves sitting having a coffee, and dessert, we do that also visiting with each other at the end of Sept in the sun blue sky looking out over the Med. Sea. Being waited on by Aldo our server who was so much fun and made everyone smile and glad that we were there.
Lecce was a beautiful old city with a lot of history, from the 13th century to post WWII. Taromina is a whole different town with an atmosphere we associate with sports cars driving down twisted highways, to down hair blowing in the wind or scarf over hair wearing big sunglasses. I guess that depends if you see Sophia Loren or Audery Hepburn in your minds eye. That's what this area is like. I see a lot more casual dress here with most women but the older ,local Italian women come out for their nightly walks very well dress with their string of pearls on, handbags , hair done walking arm and arm. People watching is so much fun.
Shelby, if you read this the drinks we have are in very small glasses and do not think it is sophiscated .
We are OLD and you are not. Love you Sweetie.
That's it for now.
Grace and Bruce
You and Bruce will be signing up for AA upon your return!!!

Sounds amazing sitting and enjoying the sun and the drinks. I bet Darin would love all the different beers- do they taste different from home brew here you have had? Or different from microbrews or are they basically the same. What is the popular drinks to drink there- more beer drinkers or wine drinkers? Nice that you meet people from all over the world but also that they do speak english. Shelby had her first homecoming dance last night- but it wasn't like a traditional homecoming- it was basically like a carnival. Bounce houses, Lazer tag, shaved ice, a small dance area with a dj, and photos. She went with her friend Mallory and met a bunch of her swim team girls there. She had a blast. Picked them up at 10pm and she is excited for the next event- not sure what it will be. We have all gone to 2 of the home football games- so much fun! She is in with the student section so we never see her until after it is over. We sit with other friends we know. We have won all our games so far- good team. I do like having Shelby had a phone so I can text and get updates as to who she is with and what is happening. She responds and keeps me updated- which is nice. Love you guys - we are looking at getting tickets to a blazer game on December 30th- are you guys interested in going with us? I think they are $30 a person - special rate through our club swim team. I wasn't sure if you guys would be here during that time or not. Need to buy them soon- limited seating so let me know. I did donate to Shelbys team for you- thanks for that donation. They really need the funds- the girls are wearing the boys uniforms as the school district would only purchase one set for both boys and girls. So they are just huge on the girls for the pants- Shelby only got the jacket but it is an extra large- so it really doesn't fit. Anyhow, they hope to raise enough money to buy warm up jackets for at least the varsity team. Ttyl,
